Waste Facilities / Landfills
Glen Innes Severn Council has Waste Facilities (landfills) at Glen Innes, Emmaville, Deepwater and Red Range.
The Glen Innes Waste Facility accepts general, concrete, metal and green waste and is the only landfill in the Local Government Area which accepts tyres, mattresses and asbestos. Please contact the Glen Innes Waste Facility at least 24 hours to make arrangements for asbestos disposal.

Waste Facility Opening Hours and Fees
Summer hours commence annually on 1 October and run through until 30 April.
Winter Hours commence annually on 1 May and run through until 30 September.
Landfills are closed on the following public holidays:
- Australia Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Sunday
- ANZAC Day
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day

Please note that last load over the weighbridge is 15 minutes before closing time.
The Glen Innes Waste Facility only accepts payment for access by EFTPOS.
Glen Innes Waste Facilities is located at 88 Rodgers Road, Glen Innes
Emmaville Waste Facility is located at Emmaville Tip Road (Off Deloraine Road)
Deepwater Waste Facility is located at Deepwater Tip Road (Off Wellington Vale Road)
Red Range Waste Facility is located at Red Range Tip Road (Off Greenhouse Road)
Community Recycling Centre
Community Recycling Centres (CRCs) are permanent drop-off centres for common household problem wastes that can’t be collected via recycling collection services. NSW householders can drop off problem wastes at these centres year round, free of charge. The Community Recycling Centre service is currently only available at the Glen Innes Waste Facility.
Items that can be disposed of for free at the CRC include:
- Paints
- Gas Bottles
- Batteries
- Motor Oils
- Smoke Detectors
- Fluorescent tubes and globes
Many of these materials can be reused and recycled if processed correctly. Recycling helps our environment because it saves water, energy and natural resources. Only household quantities accepted. Dangerous goods will not be accepted.

Materials Recycling Facility
All items placed into a yellow recycling bin are taken to the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) located at the Glen Innes Waste Facility. The MRF has been contracted to Glen Industries since the 1980's. Glen Industries is an NDIS service provider, employing and training people with a disability in a supportive environment. The Glen Industries team sorts the recycling by hand on a conveyor belt before sending onto the next stage of it's recycling journey. As you place items in your Yellow Lid Bin please think of the safety of the team of employees who have to handle it. PLEASE only put glass bottles, plastic bottles, cardboard, paper, aluminium and tin cans, foil and plastic containers marked with a recycling number in the Yellow Bin. DO NOT place household waste, nappies, needles, dead animals in the Yellow Lid Bin, this contaminates the load and puts the safety of the Glen Industries team at risk.
Glen Innes Waste Facility Trash and Treasure Shed
The buy-back shop will sell items left at the landfill which are of good, reusable quality and include household items, furniture, paintings, motor gear, baby equipment, toys, gardening items and (if you're lucky) including some items that are as new.
Opening Hours for the Trash and Treasure Shed is from 10am to 4pm weekdays and on weekends from 11am to 4pm.
