Council Resources
Regional Drought Resilience Plan
The Northern New England High Country Regional Drought Resilience Plan has been developed by Glen Innes Severn Council and Tenterfield Shire Council, with support from the NSW and Australian Governments.
The Plan identifies strategies and actions to prepare communities for future droughts, strengthen the agricultural sector, and support the wellbeing of residents and businesses across the region.

Water Restrictions
Glen Innes
Level three (3) water restrictions are currently in place for Glen Innes, effective 28 April 2026, in accordance with Council’s Drought Management Plan, following inspections that confirmed water levels reached the trigger for level 3 restrictions.
Level 3 Water Restrictions
Deepwater
Level two (2) water restrictions are currently in place for Deepwater, effective 28 April 2026, in accordance with Council’s Drought Management Plan, following inspections that confirmed water levels reached the trigger for level 2 restrictions.
Level 2 Water Restrictions
Any changes to water restrictions will be communicated through Council's website and Facebook page as well as through local media.
