Council has been advised by TOMRA that there has been a delay in connecting the Return & Earn machine this morning.
We
will continue to keep the community updated on any information we receive from TOMRA regarding the machine's revised timeline of operation.

UPDATE 31 JANUARY 2024
As you may have already noticed, TOMRA are currently reinstalling a Return & Earn machine in the Mackenzie Mall car park, located behind Coles, Glen Innes. With the return of a Return & Earn machine, the community will be able to return and recycle beverage containers such
as bottles or cans.
Council can confirm, the machine will be operational from Tuesday, 6 February 2024.

Council is currently working with TOMRA to assist with the facilitation of a new Return & Earn machine to be placed behind Coles at 357 Grey Street, Glen Innes.
We appreciate your cooperation as we negotiate the restoration of a Return and Earn in Glen Innes as quickly as possible.

Council has received a large volume of enquiries in relation to the return of the Return & Earn machine.
While Council is doing everything possible to facilitate its re-establishment, we want to clarify that the Return & Earn machine is not under the direct responsibility of Council. However, we are fully aware of its importance to the community, and we are committed to assisting in resolving the matter as soon as possible.
We kindly request your patience and understanding during this process.

UPDATE 12 October 2023
TOMRA Cleanaway will be reinstating a Return and Earn Machine at a new location at the back of the Visitor Information Centre at 152 Church St, Glen Innes NSW 2370.
The machine is expected to be installed once a new electrical connection has been completed.
Council will ensure to update the community as soon as the Return and Earn is ready to be utilised.

Council wishes to advise residents that we are still negotiating with TOMRA Cleanaway to reinstate the Return and Earn machine that was removed from the Glen Innes Woolworths carpark.
At this stage, Council has not been provided with any new information from TOMRA Cleanaway regarding the restoration of a Return and Earn machine within the town, though we will ensure to keep the community informed as soon as we receive an update on the matter.
