FESTIVE SEASON TRADING HOURS
The Mayor, Councillors, General Manager and all the staff at Glen Innes Severn Council wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.
Council wishes to advise that the worksites listed below will be closed on the following dates during the Christmas/New Year period:
From 4.30pm on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 until 8.30am on Monday, 4 January 2021.
- The Town Hall Office in Grey Street;
- The Church Street Office;
- The Lang Street Works Depot and Stores;
- Life Choices - Support Services. Direct support services will operate without interruption to service delivery.
LANDFILL
Glen Innes Landfill will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day but will be open all other usual days and times. Village Landfills (Emmaville, Red Range and Deepwater) will be closed Christmas Day and open all other usual days and times.
GARBAGE COLLECTION
There will be no changes to garbage and recycling collections over the Christmas/New Year period.
AQUATIC CENTRES
Glen Innes Swim Centre will close at 5.00pm on Thursday, 24 December 2020 and will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It will be open all other days from 10.30am until 6.00pm. There will be no early swim sessions between Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and Monday, 4 January 2021 inclusive.
Emmaville Swim Centre will close at 5.00pm on Thursday, 24 December 2020 and will be closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It will open all other days from 12noon to 6.00pm.
GLEN INNES LIBRARY AND LEARNING CENTRE
The Library/Learning Centre will be closed from 5.00pm Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will reopen at 10.00am on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.
Deepwater Library
The Deepwater Library will be closed from 4.00pm on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will reopen at 10.00am on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.
Emmaville Library
The Emmaville Library will be closed from 4.00pm on Friday, 18 December 2020 and will reopen at 10.00am on Friday, 8 January 2021.
Glencoe Library
The Glencoe Library will be closed for the public holidays only.
THE YOUTH BOOTH
Council’s “The Youth Booth” will be closed from 4.00pm on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will reopen on Monday, 4 January 2021 at 12noon.It will be open from 12noon to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday each week for the remainder of the summer school vacation.
GLEN INNES VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE
The Glen Innes Visitor Information Centre will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
VACATION CARE
Council’s Children and Family Services (CAFS) Vacation Care will be closed from 5.00pm on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will reopen on Monday, 4 January 2021.
GLEN INNES AGGREGATES
Glen Innes Aggregates will cease trading from 4.30pm on Wednesday, 23 December 2020 and will resume trading on Monday, 11 January 2021 at 7.30am.
RANGER DUTIES
Over the Council Christmas Closure period, Council Rangers will be on call after hours for emergency matters only. These include public safety issues such as stock on public roads and serious dog attacks. Ranger telephone: 0417 890 889.
