Important Information For Ratepayers

On Display Indefinitely

Glen Innes Severn Council relies on various income streams to continue to provide important services and infrastructure to the community. These income streams include rates as well as various other fees and charges. Council recognises that occasionally bills can be overlooked, or circumstances can change unexpectedly. When this does occur, our focus is always on early communication and supporting our ratepayers to stay on track.

To help keep people informed, Council is expanding the ways we send reminders about overdue accounts. Some ratepayers may now receive reminder notices by text message, in addition to the email and postal reminders already in use. If you have received a reminder regarding an outstanding balance, please know that this is a part of our routine communication process to help you stay up to date.

For anyone experiencing financial difficulty, Council offers support through our Financial Hardship Policy. Depending on your situation, options such as payment arrangements or other assistance may be available. All applications are handled confidentially and assessed in line with Council’s adopted guidelines.

We encourage residents who are finding it difficult to meet payments to reach out early. By talking with us sooner, we can work together to find a manageable solution and avoid the need for further action.

If you would like to discuss your account or explore available support, please contact Glen Innes Severn Council on (02) 6730 2300.
