Christmas in the Highlands – Illuminations is a vibrant, community driven, one-evening annual event that transforms Grey Street and the CBD in Glen Innes, NSW, into a festive wonderland. This event blends Christmas lights, creative lighting, cultural traditions, retail, and food experiences, including the fantastic Spend In Glen promotion.
Art activations, live entertainment, markets and a bold street carnival atmosphere bring community and visitors together for a joy-filled evening celebrating the start of the holiday and summer season.
Originally established as a community Christmas event, it is now transitioning into a major regional placemaking, cultural and visitor economy driver through successfully securing Transport NSW Open Street three-year funding (2025-2027).
