WELCOMING THE NEW GLEN INNES SEVERN COUNCIL

Glen Innes Severn Council General Manager, Bernard Smith is pleased on behalf of all staff, to welcome the newly elected Councillors and acknowledge the ongoing service of the re-elected Councillors, following the 2024 NSW Local Government Elections.

Returning Councillors include Rob Banham, Troy Arandale, Tim Alt, Carol Sparks and Andrew Parsons, who will be joined for the next term by new councillors Margot Davis and Max Elphick.

 Bernard Smith said, “We welcome the new councillors and appreciate the continued service of those returning. Their diverse experiences will contribute to Council’s efforts to serve the community effectively and build a better region.”                                                                

“The first meetings of Council including the extensive induction process will focus on establishing priorities and initiatives for the coming term, and the staff are committed to working with the new Council to ensure it achieves its goals,” Mr Smith said.

The first official meeting of the new Council is scheduled for Thursday, 10 October 2024. During this meeting, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be elected and delegates to various Council committees will be appointed. The first Ordinary Council Meeting will take place on Thursday, 24th October 2024.

Council extends its appreciation to the community for their participation in the election process and looks forward to another term of collaborative and valuable outcomes for the region.
