The RSPCA NSW Glen Innes Volunteer Supporter Group has donated a new drinking fountain for pets and their owners to use when walking their furry friends in Glen Innes. This much-needed service will allow pet owners to provide their animal companions with fresh drinking water, ensuring pets can stay happy and hydrated during their outings to ANZAC Park.

“We are delighted to be able to provide this service for the residents of Glen Innes. We wouldn’t have been able to introduce the foundation without the support of our community,” said Val Cleaver, Glen Innes Volunteer Treasurer.

On behalf of the supporter group, Val extends a heartfelt thank you to Glen Innes Severn Council for their assistance and coordinating the placement of the fountain.

The fountain is situated on the walkway at the southern end of ANZAC Park, near the children's playground.

Run entirely by volunteers, the RSPCA NSW Glen Innes Volunteer Supporter Group has spent over $6,000 this financial year, subsidising desexing for over 50 animals and providing financial emergency vet assistance for local Glen Innes pets. By preventing unwanted animal litters and supporting pet owners with essential veterinary services, the supporter group strives to help the community ensure the happiness and safety of their adorable animal companions.

Glen Innes Severn Council's Director of Place and Growth Gayleen Burley said the new drinking fountain is a practical and welcome addition to ANZAC Park, especially for pet owners and their dogs.

“Our goal is to continually enhance our residents’ experiences in public areas, and this drinking fountain, kindly donated by the RSPCA, showcases the positive outcomes of working together,” she said.

Glen Innes Severn Council Mayor Rob Banham supported this view, noting its positive impact on the community.

“Council is dedicated to supporting initiatives that enhance local amenities and provide benefits to the community and their pets. We’re excited to see residents and their pets making use of this new facility.”
