In early 2012, the Division of Local Government (DLG) conducted an audit of Council’s business operations as part of its ongoing Local Government Reform - Promoting Better Practice Program Reviews, which are intended to improve the viability and sustainability of Councils. The reviews act as a health check for Councils, helping them to focus attention on key priorities.
Council performed well in the review, receiving 29 recommendations that were ranked either low or medium risk. Council was required to draw up an action plan in response to the recommendations. The DLG has reviewed Council’s responses and has now issued a final report which was adopted by Council at its May 2013 Council Meeting, and can be be downloaded or viewed below.
