The NSW Department of Planning and Environment undertook a reform of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (the Act) in respect to building Fire Safety matters.
The Regulation was amended at this time requiring that an inspection and assessment can now only be undertaken by a ‘competent fire safety practitioner’.
Provision was also made requiring that building owner’s record, in writing, their opinion about the competence of the fire safety practitioners they have selected.
