Council invites written submissions on the draft Australian Celtic Festival Fees and Charges for Trader Sites for the Australian Celtic Festival 2019 to be included in the 2018/19 Operational Plan and Budget :
· Standard site: $9.00 per square metre;
· Corner Premium site: additional $2.00 per square metre;
· Powered sites: $50.00 per standard 10 amp site, plus an additional $2.00 per amp for sites requesting above 10 amps.

***GLEN INNES AQUATIC CENTRE OPENING FOR SUMMER SEASON***
Due to delays experienced with the use of a surface sealant, the opening of Glen Innes Aquatic Centre will be on Sunday 16 September and not as previoulsy advertised, (as Saturday 15 September). Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to residents.
The Glen Innes Aquatic Centre will open daily from 10.30am to 6.00pm, and for an early morning swim session from 6.30am to 8.00am on weekdays for lap swimmers. The Centre provides a number of activities:
- Aqua Aerobics will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8.30am to 9.30am starting on 25 September;
- Stroke correction class will be on Sundays at 10.00am;
- Redfins Swim Club meets each Monday night at 6.00pm during the season commencing 24 September;
- Squad training for all ages will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6.30am;
- Wheelchair access to the main pool is available via a ramp.

The Emmaville pool will open during October. Information regarding the opening dates, hours of opening and activities at the pool will be available in this advertisement and on Council’s website and Facebook page once confirmed.
***NOMINATIONS FOR AUSTRALIA DAY AWARDS 2019 ARE NOW OPEN***
Now is your chance to have that special person, organisation, or event in our community recognised at the 2019 Australia Day Awards ceremony. Download a nomination form and guidelines on the website or pick up a printed copy form the Town Hall Council office, and the village post offices at Deepwater, Emmaville and Glencoe. Nominations close 4.30pm on Monday, 10 December 2018.
***SATISFACTION AND PRIORITIES SURVEY REGARDING COUNCIL-MANAGED FACILITIES AND SERVICES***
The Satisfaction and Priorities Survey Report 2018 was included as an Annexure to the Business Paper for the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 28 June 2018. Mr James Parker from Jetty Research gave a PowerPoint Presentation at the meeting regarding the Survey.
***ALCOHOL FREE ZONE and ALCOHOL PROHIBITED AREAS***
Council has declared, in the township of Glen Innes, as an Alcohol Free Zone, the whole of Grey Street between Taylor Street and Oliver Street; including those streets, public places and car parks intersecting and adjacent to Grey Street from the eastern side of East Avenue and the western side of Church Street.
Council has declared the following locations within Glen Innes as Alcohol Prohibited Areas (Alcohol Consumption by Permit Only): Coronation Park (Skate Park), Lions Park, Veness Park, Anzac Park, King Edward Park, King George Oval and Park, Wilson Park, Quinton Park and O’Shea Park.
