The village of Deepwater, which has a population of approximately 330, combines historic buildings with a modern industrial estate.
Visitors to Deepwater can enjoy a meal at Cafe Blue Bell, which also sells artworks and craft items. Other popular eating and drinking venues are the Commercial Hotel and the Deepwater Inn, which both offer accommodation too. Award winning wines are available at the Wellington Vale winery.
Deepwater has its own golf club, where visitors and locals alike can enjoy a few rounds. There are also excellent fishing spots around Deepwater, where a variety of fish species abound. These include Murray cod, yellowbelly, silver perch, redfin, catfish, and trout.
Deepwater Public School is a well equipped school, catering for infants and primary students. It was the winner of the 2007 ABC Flame Award for the "Most Outstanding Music Program" in a NSW School.
