Glen Innes Severn Council covers an area of 5,487 sq. km, and is located in the beautiful New England area of N.S.W., servicing the town of Glen Innes and villages of Deepwater, Emmaville, Glencoe and Red Range.

The Glen Innes Severn area is known as Celtic Country, and is the home of the Australian Standing Stones, where the Australian Celtic Festival is celebrated annually in May.

Council gives public notice of its intentions to classify the land known as Assessment 10598-00000000-000 at 1296 Gwydir Highway (“Wattle Vale”), Glen Innes (comprising Lots 133, 134 DP753274 Folio identifier Auto Consol 4622-226, Lot 113 DP 753319 Folio identifier 113/753319, Lots 174, 175, 249 DP 753319 Folio identifier Auto Consol 6054-247, Lots 87, 101, 253 DP 753319 Folio identifier Auto Consol 5962-224, and Lot 1 DP 728579 Folio identifier 1/728579) as Operational Land in accordance with the provisions of Section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993. Council invites written submissions on this document.  Council kindly advises the public notification period for submissions to the land classification closes at 4.30pm on Friday, 29 July.
